Buildings & Fleet Services is the classic example of an internal service agency providing core services
to city departments and agencies. The Division is a composite of licensed professionals, skilled trades,
certified mechanics and technicians, experienced fleet drivers, communication operations, dispatchers
and experienced office staff. The Division has undergone a multitude of staffing changes throughout the
past several years. A vast number of methods and processes have been streamlined and the application of
technology has created a more efficient and effective section.
Buildings and Fleet Services includes the Recreational Facilities Unit which provides the external service of operating and maintaining play areas, green areas and administering major reconstructions of Milwaukee Public School recreation sites. Despite substantial reductions in staff, the experienced recreational facilities unit effectively utilizes resources available. |
