The Twice per Month Recycling program is conducted by the Department of Public Works in two routes that historically maintain the highest recycling pounds per household in the city. The program started in the summer of 2007 and now operates each year in these two routes of roughly 7,400 households. Households in the program roll their cart to the collection point twice per month on a designated schedule.
Here are some of the results of the program:
- Increased productivity of City crews
- Decreased garbage pounds
- Increased recycling rate (portion of total solid waste recycled)
- Increased customer service level

Households that are part of this program are notified of the collection schedule through a tag placed on their recycling carts in the spring. Find your next day of collection.
