EFFECTIVE FOR June 5th, June 6th, and June 7th 2009

The bridges north of the Wells Street Bridge, mile 1.61, over the Milwaukee River, will open on the hour and half hour for vessels requesting bridge openings between the hours 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. In addition, these bridges need not open to any vessels between the hours of 8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. These restrictions apply to the Kilbourn Avenue Bridge, mile 1.70; the State Street Bridge, mile 1.79; the Juneau Avenue Bridge, mile 2.06; and the Cherry Street Bridge, mile 2.29.

Vessels requesting bridge openings should contact the Michigan St. Bridge at 286-2575 or on Channel 16. A two-hour notice is required for these bridges.

Any questions regarding these special bridge restrictions should be directed to the City of Milwaukee, Infrastructure Services/Field Operations, at 286-3450, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

NOTICE TO MARINERS


SUMMERFEST



EFFECTIVE FOR JUNE 25th THROUGH JULY 5th, 2009

During Summerfest, Broadway Bridge, mile .79; Water Street Bridge, mile .94; Wisconsin Ave. Bridge, mile 1.46; Michigan Ave. Bridge, mile 1.37; and Clybourn Ave. Bridge, mile 1.28; will be subjected to "Temporary Bridge Opening Restrictions". During the scheduled fireworks on Thursday, June 25th, 2009 (rain date June 26th ) and on Friday, July 3rd, 2009 (rain date July 4th) the above mentioned bridges will not open for any vessel between the hours of 9:30 p.m. and 1:00 a.m., except at the discretion of the Milwaukee Police Department. All remaining days of Summerfest, Friday, June 26th, 2009 through Thursday, July 2, and Saturday July 4th, through Sunday July 5th 2009 the above mentioned bridges will not open for all recreational craft between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. each night, except at the discretion of the Milwaukee Police Department.

FESTA ITALIANA



EFFECTIVE FOR JULY 16th THROUGH JULY 19th, 2009

During Festa Italiana, the Broadway Bridge, mile .79; and Water Street Bridge, mile .94; will not open for all recreational craft between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. each night, except at the discretion of the Milwaukee Police Department.

CIRCUS PARADE



EFFECTIVE FOR JULY 11th AND JULY 12th, 2009

During the Circus Parade the following downtown bridges located over the Milwaukee River need not open for commercial or recreational crafts between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., except at the discretion of the Milwaukee Police Department. These hours apply to the St. Paul Ave. Bridge, mile 1.21; Clybourn St. Bridge, mile 1.28; Michigan St. Cridge, mile 1.37; Wisconsin, mile 1.46; Wells St. Bridge, mile 1.61; Kilbourne Ave. Bridge, mile 1.70; and the State St. Bridge, mile 1.79.

Any questions regarding these special bridge hours should ne directed to the City of Milwaukee, Infrastructure Services/Field Operations, 286-3450, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
