They contribute to the quality of life and economic development of Milwaukee in many ways. They provide the cleanest, safest water in the country; they foster the growth and beauty of our urban forest and boulevards to the envy of others around the country; and they complete sewer, water and paving projects on or ahead of schedule. At any hour, they plow snow to keep our streets safe for passage; they also provide reliable and efficient garbage and recycling collection.

DPW keeps the municipal fleet, equipment and buildings in top shape. The administration of the city's most visible department is accomplished with the highest level of professionalism.
