Late Payments

Citation payments are required within 10 days of issuance. If not paid within 10 days, see chart above that describes schedule of fine increases on a per violation basis.

Failure to Pay Citation

Late fees will be imposed as described above.
If payment is not made within 58 days, a vehicle registration hold will be placed on the vehicle receiving the citation.
If payment is not made within 80 days, the citation will go to the collection contractor.
If payment is not made, the City participates in the Wisconsin Department of Revenue Tax Intercept Program, whereby state income tax refunds may be intercepted for the unpaid amount.
If a vehicle is illegally parked with two or more unpaid parking citations greater than 30 days old, the vehicle may be subject to towing.
If payment is not made, registration with credit bureaus may be made.

How and Where to Pay Citations

Mail Check or money order payments are accepted and should be mailed in the envelope provided with the parking citation. Please send payment to:

Pay parking citations at Police District Stations #2, #3, #4, #5, #6 and #7 at the payment centers 24/7/365. Receipt available.
Cash, check and credit card accepted with a $2.00 transaction fee.

In Person Cash, credit card, check, or money order payments are accepted. Receipt available.

If you have any questions concerning a citation or wish to dispute a citation, call the Violations Bureau (414) 344-0840 between 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. Monday-Friday to schedule an appointment with the Citation Review Manager.
