Late Payments
  • Citation payments are required within 10 days of issuance. If not paid within 10 days, see chart above that describes schedule of fine increases on a per violation basis.

Failure to Pay Citation
  • Late fees will be imposed as described above.
  • If payment is not made within 58 days, a vehicle registration hold will be placed on the vehicle receiving the citation.
  • If payment is not made within 80 days, the citation will go to the collection contractor.
  • If payment is not made, the City participates in the Wisconsin Department of Revenue Tax Intercept Program, whereby state income tax refunds may be intercepted for the unpaid amount.
  • If a vehicle is illegally parked with two or more unpaid parking citations greater than 30 days old, the vehicle may be subject to towing.
  • If payment is not made, registration with credit bureaus may be made.
How and Where to Pay Citations
  • Mail Check or money order payments are accepted and should be mailed in the envelope provided with the parking citation. Please send payment to:

    • The Interactive Voice Response System (IVR) is operational 24/7/365.
    • MasterCard and Visa accepted, with a $2.00 transaction fee.
  • Online Payment
    • Online Payment for parking citations is operational 24/7/365.
    • Mastercard and Visa accepted with a $2.00 transaction fee.
  • Automated Payment Centers
    • Pay parking citations at Police District Stations #2, #3, #4, #5, #6 and #7 at the payment centers 24/7/365. Receipt available.
    • Cash, check and credit card accepted with a $2.00 transaction fee.
  • In Person Cash, credit card, check, or money order payments are accepted. Receipt available.

To Dispute a Citation
  • If you have any questions concerning a citation or wish to dispute a citation, call the Violations Bureau (414) 344-0840 between 8:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M. Monday-Friday to schedule an appointment with the Citation Review Manager.
