- This new ordinance establishes resident-only parking zones within the UWM commuter-impacted parking area that are in effect Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Only vehicles bearing a valid RPP permit are allowed to park on designated streets and blocks in the area.

- Resident-only parking permits can be obtained free of charge from the 5th District Police Station located at 2920 N. 4th Street.
- Designated streets and blocks in the RPP area are posted "NO PARKING 7AM TO 7PM MON-FRI EXCEPT RPP PERMIT". See the sign on the right.
- Service vehicles and guests will be allowed to park within the RPP area provided parking permission has been obtained.

- Vehicles bearing a valid RPP permit are still required to follow parking regulations that prohibit parking during specific times or events. Refer to the sign as an example.
- Enforcement of the new ordinance begins September 1st, 2007. Vehicles in violation will receive a
$30 parking citation.

- The Common Council adopted an ordinance that prohibits an unregistered vehicle
from parking in the public right of way without displaying valid registration
plates, temporary plates, or other evidence of registration for the vehicle's
current registration period or for a registration period that expired within
the immediate preceding 31 days.
- A vehicle parked in violation of the ordinance will be issued a $50 citation
for Unregistered/Improperly Registered Vehicle and towed to the City Tow Lot.
Towing fees are $95 and storage fees are $20 per day.
- In order to retrieve the vehicle from the City Tow Lot, the owner must pay the
parking citation and all applicable towing and storage fees. In addition, the
owner must provide evidence that the vehicle is currently registered in the
State of Wisconsin or provide a completed application for registration
accompanied by the registration fee that has been delivered to the Wisconsin
Department of Transportation or deposited in the mail.

- This ordinance allows for parking of service vehicles in the UWM commuter parking impacted area only.
- Clearly identifiable service vehicles will be allowed to park within the
commuter parking impacted area in excess of the posted time limits between the
hours of 7 AM and 9 PM, Monday through Friday.
- A property owner must call the Parking Information Desk at 286-8350 for
permission not less than 24 hours prior to the time the vehicle will be parked.
- Permission will be granted for one day only. If additional days are needed,
separate notification is required for each day.
- A property owner must provide their name and address, the name of the service
vehicle as it appears on the vehicle and the location where the service vehicle
will be parked.
- A confirmation number will be given for each permission.
